Multi-Page Document: Company Handbook

Client: Slice of Heaven Bakery
Skills: Multi-Page Design, Document Design, User-Experience
Tools: InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Canva

As part of a Document Design course, we were tasked with creating a multi-page design document. The project involved analyzing the client’s current handbook and developing an innovative solution for their growing team, with a focus on design, layouts, typeface/typesetting, and color theory. Additionally, we needed to reorganize the content to enhance the user experience.

To begin, I established a grid in Adobe InDesign and entered the text using a traditional hierarchical format suitable for a handbook. To align the design with the client’s branding, I selected images that matched their color scheme and added visual focal points for each page. I also selected typefaces and type settings that are consistent with the brand’s logo to maintain a cohesive look.

My primary objective was to ensure the final handbook reflected client feedback and brand guidelines, while also considering how the end user would use the manual. The final product successfully conveys what a bakery client would value—fun, visually engaging content that presents information in an organized, easily accessible manner.
