In response to a rise in rehoming requests driven by pet overpopulation in Texas, I developed a structured guide to help individuals place dogs safely and responsibly.
Drawing on hands-on rescue experience, I identified a gap in clear, practical guidance for evaluating adopters. This often led to unsafe placements or repeat rehoming. The goal was to translate real-world knowledge into a consistent, easy-to-use framework.
A key challenge was balancing an approachable tone with firm, non-negotiable standards, while keeping the guide concise and actionable. Using AI-assisted content development, I organized complex information into step-by-step guidance and a companion checklist to support real-world use.
The final deliverable is a practical, values-based guide that supports safer placements and better long-term outcomes for dogs and adopters.
